Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). She made the move to Oxfordshire at the age of five and attended the Dragon School. Since the age of 6 Emma decided she would like to become an actress. Over a number of years she trained at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught singing dancing and acting. The actress had performed in a variety of Stagecoach as well as school plays when she was ten years old. Casting began in 1999 with the casting process for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents found Emma from her Oxford theater teacher. After eight continuous auditions, the producer David Heyman told Emma and the other candidates Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected for the role of the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic appearance was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It was also the biggest and most profitable film in the year 2001. Opening weekday and weekend ticket sales were record breaking. The film was praised by critics and the performance of three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, a frequently read British paper, praised her for her outstanding performance. Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later for the film.
