Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people. He also achieved the status of a superstar through his pop-folk songs based on folk, with a lot of them being set in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and settled down in Aspen. Denver's songs that he sang about his new home state drew many tourists to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said that John Denver was by far one of the top artists who represented Colorado. Denver was the very one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Many consider Denver to be the symbol of Colorado. In all my travels I've encountered many people who are not from Colorado. They will say, "Oh John Denver!" whenever they learn that you come from Colorado. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 singles after he performed with small folk music bands. The song was written and performed by Bill Danoff. Danoff originally wrote it to Johnny Cash's tune with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver realized from the first time he heard the first versions of the song that it was going to be an instant hit. The song was recorded by the singer just a few days later when he performed it in front of crowds of enthusiastic fans in Washington D.C.
