Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21, 1983) is a famous American actress. Particularly, she was the character Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Maggie Grace is originally from Worthington located in Ohio dropped out high school and moved in Los Angeles after her divorced parents. However, in 2001, despite difficulties with money, she was able to land her first major performance in the video online show Rachel's Room as the main character. In 2002 she was nominated to receive an Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford was the lead actor in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004 she received the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. After leaving the show, Grace was keen to work more prominently in film having played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. In addition, she appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and also starred alongside Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice as Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is a modern adaptation that the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon's part on Lost for two episodes, including the final episode of the series. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season, which aired from 2013 to 2014. She plays Faith as a groupie, and also a muse to the stars who captures the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She's the daughter of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is more senior in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager She appeared in small roles in her father's movies and co-starred with her older twin brother on Donnie Darko which is a popular cult movie. She then appeared on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performance as a lead character actress in Secretary (2002) which is the erotic drama about romance and Sherrybaby (2006). In 2006, she was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award. In the wake of several successful commercial films including World Trade Center in 2006 her name was recognized more widely when she played Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). She was recognized as the best supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mother in Crazy Heart. In the following years, she starred in comedies as well as dramatic movies: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Apart from her character as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she was also seen on screen in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). The latest roles included the protagonist in The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). The debut of Gyllenhaal as a writer and director came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama for which she received an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. She also won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
